Assemblymember Raul Bocanegra Reacts to Governor Jerry Brown’s May Budget Revision
(SACRAMENTO) – Assemblymember Raul Bocanegra (D-Pacoima) released the following statement on Governor Brown’s May Budget Revision:
“Governor Brown’s budget revision shows a better outlook for California compared to January’s budget, and we don’t have to make painful cuts to key programs despite revenue projections remaining down from last year.
These budget revisions show our commitment to growing our economy, creating jobs, training our workforce, and improving the quality of life for the people of the North East San Fernando Valley. It also gives us an opportunity to bring added resources to my district for sound walls, open-space preservation, and transportation infrastructure.
I look forward to working with my colleagues in the Assembly to deliver another balanced, on-time budget for Californians.”
Raul Bocanegra is the Democratic Majority Whip in the California State Assembly. He represents the 39th Assembly District, which includes the Los Angeles communities of Arleta, Granada Hills, Lakeview Terrace, Mission Hills, North Hollywood, Pacoima, Shadow Hills, Sun Valley, Sunland-Tujunga, Sylmar and the City of San Fernando.
