This joint resolution would urge the federal government to allow vehicles registered to disabled veterans to utilize high-occupancy vehicle lanes or carpool lanes pursuant to the federal government’s Clean Air Act program authority.

- AB 2082 – Relinquishment of Palmdale Boulevard
This bill seeks to authorize the California Department of Transportation (CalTrans) to relinquish a portion of State Route 138 to the City of Palmdale. Giving the City ownership of Palmdale Blvd. will allow City Hall to reimagine and redevelop this central corridor in the heart of the City.
- AB 2109 – Industrial Process Heat Recovery
This bill seeks to encourage investment in Industrial Process Heat Recovery (IPHR) technologies by exempting “departing load charges” for reductions in grid energy usage, similar to other energy efficiency technologies. This simple fix will create a cleaner and more resilient electric grid throughout California.
- AB 2192 – California Uniform Construction Cost Accounting Act
This bill seeks to update the California Uniform Construction Cost Accounting Act (CUPCCAA) by increasing the bidding thresholds to account for inflation in addition to a third pricing tier for participating agencies.
- AB 2245 – Retaining Career Technical Education Teachers
This bill seeks to bring parity to Career Technical Education teachers by ensuring they are able to obtain permanent employee status, like all other teachers in California.
- AB 2371 – Electric Security Fence Permits
This bill seeks to prevent property theft by allowing property owners and businesses operating on manufacturing, industrial, or specified commercial properties to install and operate an electrified security fence for security.
- AB 2443 – Transactions & Use Tax
This bill would authorize the Cities of Lancaster, Palmdale, and Victorville to impose a transactions and use tax for the support of countywide transportation programs and general services, at a rate of no more than 1%. The voters of each City would have to approve this increase before it becomes effect.
- AB 2533 – Accessory Dweling Unit Amnesty
This bill seeks to formally get existing unpermitted accessory dwelling units (ADU) and junior accessory dwelling units (JADUs) online by updating ADU amnesty laws. This change will empower homeowners to seek advice from licensed contractors to address any health and safety concerns and provide a pathway for homeowners looking to legalize their units.
- AB 2622 – Expanding Opportunities for Handymen
This bill seeks to update the minor work exemption from $500 to $1,000 for unlicensed contractors to ensure handymen are better able to find jobs and sustain careers. By increasing the minor work exemption to $1,000, AB 2622 ensures that handymen are able to be hired legally and pursue work knowing they will be able to charge a reasonable amount.
- AB 2736 – Improving Veterans’ Educational Benefits
This bill seeks to improve access to higher education for family members of disabled veterans by allowing them to receive the California College Fee Waiver at the same time as Survivors’ and Dependents’ Educational Assistance (DEA).
- AB 2929 – Advancing Foster Youth Family Finding Efforts
This bill seeks to build upon the work being done in California to connect youth in the foster care system with family. Promoting equal access to updates on family finding efforts from social workers would improve the overall well-being of foster youth children.
- AB 3179 – Maintaining 9-1-1 & Emergency Alert Connections
This bill seeks to allow vehicles that are required to respond to national Emergency Alert Systems or provide access to 9-1-1 emergency, such as bucket trucks and cell on wheel (COW) trucks, the ability to restore and maintain reliable telecommunications services to Californians during power outages and emergencies.
- AB 98 – Planning Logistics & Neighborhood Standards (P.L.A.N.S) Act
This bill seeks to provide standards for new and expanding warehouses near communities and other sensitive receptors, putting in place planning standards to promote healthy communities. Additionally this bill seeks to push local governments to mitigate the impact of heavy-duty trucks on the public health, safety and quality of life of communities impacted by the growing logistics use sector.
